Hi Everyone!
Sorry I haven't been very active or creative lately. It's that time of the school semester where everything spirals into a messy black hole of stress and schoolwork. I haven't had much time for crochet, and the free time I do have is usually spent laying around like a slug, haha. But I am working on a Kevin bird order for an Etsy customer, which I just finished.
Some of you know that I'm an Early Education major, studying to teach little kiddos how to read, write, and become amazing young people. Which means I am surrounded by children's literature and I am required by law to love the great Doctor Seuss. It's not an option. And as I'm working on a children's book project for my Phonics class, it hits me... I really want to crochet a Doctor Seuss character! Probably a Sneetch, with the stars on their bellies. I just love their shape and design. Either as Sneetch, or the Fox in Socks, but I think a Sneetch would be more recognizable. It depends on how my motivation level is. I'd also like to make another little owl, they are so much fun to make, even if they don't sell well on Etsy, lol. I just want to make a bunch of quick, small projects. But I'm so bad at quick and small, I like big critters.
Hope everyone is doing well! If you didn't read any of that (for which I do not blame you) tell me how Spring is coming in your area! Our flowers are just starting to poke their green sprouts up from the ground.

Crochet Pattern Theft, Anyone Heard of This Site?
Just found a website that posted one of my patterns without my permission. It's some kind of DIY community website where users earn points by posting and can spend those points on various downloads. Here's the link to the thread:
http://bbs.pindiy.com/thread-260914-1-1.html
So I made an account and reported the post. I tried to contact the post moderators, but here's the thing: I can't message other users because I don't have "enough points." Alright. I read the website FAQ's, trying to find a way to email the administration. They say to click the "contact us" button at the bottom of the screen. No such link exists. I try to message the adm

I've been terribly inactive on DA, I know. But I got myself a Facebook account for my crochet works. If you want to keep up to date with my stuff on Facebook, go ahead and give Miles of Crochet a "like!"

I'm still going to be posting on DeviantArt, it's just not quite as easy or fast as posting on Facebook on Tumblr, so you might see more pictures or WIP stuff.
Thanks!
New Username Change
Thanks to the few of you for voting on my poll about changing my username. It helped me make my decision.
I was thinking recently that I had outgrown my username, bandotaku. I picked it when I was in my sophomore year of high school; I was about as geeky as they come and a self-titled "otaku." I also loved playing trumpet in the band. So I thought up the name "bandotaku" and patted myself on the back for being very clever.
But I focus mostly on my crochet now, and frankly... I've outgrown my anime phase and I didn't want to have otaku in my name anymore. I'm also not in the band. So it will be nice to have my Etsy, Tumblr, and Deviantart ma
I Need Your Opinions! Please Read!
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been communicating lately. ...I have no excuse...
But I could use your help and advice! My mom is thinking of retiring soon and she'd like to start her own Etsy business (just like her daughter!) just to keep herself busy. She is an ELITE knitter. She's so good, it's incredible. Here's a picture of one of the hat's she's made and would like to eventually make more in different colors to sell:
My question is, does anyone think they would be interested in buying something like this? And does anyone have any suggestions of websites where she could promote her products? DeviantArt does get a lot of yarn-enthusiast

Good luck with the craziness! I remember what it's like trying to balance school and work and creativity - it looks like you're doing a great job to me! I was an environmental education minor (environmental biology major - now I work in communications, go figure!)
A sneetch sounds awesome - make sure you share photos!
Spring is also trying to spring up here (new England). Time to clean the yard!
