Hi Everyone!
I am so busy. I can hardly believe I'm already into my 4th week of student teaching (WHAT) and it's been an incredible ride so far. My first grade class is just wonderful and my cooperating teacher is so helpful and kind. She's definitely giving me all of the help I need.
Anyway, I finished making Greg from Over the Garden Wall about a week ago and I haven't had a chance to take pictures. If you have not watched OTGW yet, please do. It's a really short series on Cartoon Network, and it's so unique and different. I have plenty of notes and WIP pics of Greg, enough to make a pattern for him, but I feel like he needs a Wirt to go along with him... When I'll get the time and energy to go about making Wirt is another story! I just feel like they need to be a set. Like Ash ad Pikachu. Frodo and Sam. Tom and Jerry. Peanut butter and jelly.
Also, do you ever still get comments on deviations from like...2009? And you see a comment that says, "Wow, this is pretty good," or, "Not bad, I like how you drew ____," and you go take look at the drawing, and inside you're like, "OH GOSH, I drew that six years ago, I didn't know what I was doing, pretty sure I drew that in geometry class, how did you find that? Please look away!"
It makes me happy knowing that there are people who find some of my old works and like them. But please. Don't look. Which leads me to a question: what do you do with the things you have posted from years ago that you are no longer proud of? Do you take the time to clean through your submissions? Delete old, ugly works? Dump them in your scraps folder? Or just leave them be, as past relics of the proof of how much you have grown? Let me know in the comments!
Hope you're having a great week!

Crochet Pattern Theft, Anyone Heard of This Site?
Just found a website that posted one of my patterns without my permission. It's some kind of DIY community website where users earn points by posting and can spend those points on various downloads. Here's the link to the thread:
http://bbs.pindiy.com/thread-260914-1-1.html
So I made an account and reported the post. I tried to contact the post moderators, but here's the thing: I can't message other users because I don't have "enough points." Alright. I read the website FAQ's, trying to find a way to email the administration. They say to click the "contact us" button at the bottom of the screen. No such link exists. I try to message the adm
Add Me On Facebook!
I've been terribly inactive on DA, I know. But I got myself a Facebook account for my crochet works. If you want to keep up to date with my stuff on Facebook, go ahead and give Miles of Crochet a "like!"

You can also follow MilesofCrochet on Tumblr:

I'm still going to be posting on DeviantArt, it's just not quite as easy or fast as posting on Facebook on Tumblr, so you might see more pictures or WIP stuff.
Thanks!
New Username Change
Thanks to the few of you for voting on my poll about changing my username. It helped me make my decision.
I was thinking recently that I had outgrown my username, bandotaku. I picked it when I was in my sophomore year of high school; I was about as geeky as they come and a self-titled "otaku." I also loved playing trumpet in the band. So I thought up the name "bandotaku" and patted myself on the back for being very clever.
But I focus mostly on my crochet now, and frankly... I've outgrown my anime phase and I didn't want to have otaku in my name anymore. I'm also not in the band. So it will be nice to have my Etsy, Tumblr, and Deviantart ma
I Need Your Opinions! Please Read!
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been communicating lately. ...I have no excuse...
But I could use your help and advice! My mom is thinking of retiring soon and she'd like to start her own Etsy business (just like her daughter!) just to keep herself busy. She is an ELITE knitter. She's so good, it's incredible. Here's a picture of one of the hat's she's made and would like to eventually make more in different colors to sell:
My question is, does anyone think they would be interested in buying something like this? And does anyone have any suggestions of websites where she could promote her products? DeviantArt does get a lot of yarn-enthusiast

That's great news about your job. I could never do it. A room full of 6 year olds...
I have deleted some of my old stuff, until I figured out how to put it in storage. So, that's where it is for now and probably always. But yeah, I don't even want to look at that old ugly (badly photographed) stuff, so I don't want others finding it out either!
